One of the easiest ways on how to improve fertility is by drinking water.
Aside from all the vitamins and herbs I recommend, probably the most important thing you can do toward improving fertility is to drink plenty of water. Water is beneficial whether you are trying to conceive or not.
[ندعوك للتسجيل في المنتدى أو التعريف بنفسك لمعاينة هذه الصورة] Our bodies are made up primarily of water. Actually around 70% of our body is water. It takes around 64 ounces or roughly 2 liters of water a day just to maintain our body. When you are trying to conceive it's so much more beneficial to drink the water for several good reasons.
Water helps to keep your complexion clear. It cleans out your bowels and kidneys, which in turns helps to boost the immune system. These are reasons to drink plenty of water for everyone.
The number one area that water will help with getting pregnant is that it acts much the same way guaifenesin does. It thins out the mucus. It also increases the mucus. Cervical fluid is something that is extremely important to have in order for conception to occur. Without it the sperm cannot reach the egg. Good fertile quality cervical fluid will help the sperm to reach the egg. It will also help keep the sperm alive for several days to await ovulation. This is key in how to improve fertility.
Water is the life-blood of pregnancy. So being in the habit of drinking water before you conceive will just insure you continue the habit throughout pregnancy too.
Water benefits pregnancy in these ways:
- By preventing bladder and urinary tract infections. Water keeps the kidneys cleansed and in return the bladder and urinary tract. Pregnant women are more susceptible to infections in this area anyway - so keeping hydrated helps to keep the infections at bay.
- By preventing dehydration. Dehydration is the number one cause of preterm labor. When the body is dehydrated the uterus begins contracting, which leads to labor and premature birth.
- By helping to prevent hemorrhoids. If you are hydrated your bowels are working properly and chances of constipation are minimal. This cuts down on the hemorrhoids.
You need to make sure you drink at least 64 ounces of water each day in preparation for pregnancy. If you're not use to drinking that much water, you will notice that you will have to urinate more often. As your body gets use to the water the bathroom trips will lessen some. But once pregnant, frequent bathroom trips become the norm.
So when asked how to improve fertility I always answer "by drinking more water." Water consumption can be substituted with "non-caloric" intake such as decafe unsweetened tea. If water isn't something you like to drink because of the absence of taste - try squeezing some fruit juice in - like lemon, lime or orange. Keep your glass full and within reach all day long. It will pay off in more ways than one!
